I have long known about KOMOJINJINJA, an unusual shrine with a large pond as its sacred body, through the Internet and social networking sites.
The pond is said to reflect the sky and offer a very beautiful view.
I was looking forward to it.

The Komo Shrine had many large trees.

As I proceeded through the forest, I came upon an unusual building.
This building was Kurehashi Bridge.
This bridge was built in 1850.
This bridge is designated as a registered tangible cultural property of Nakatsu City.

This guardian dog had a humorous expression.

I photographed the shrine building from the side.

I was able to walk around the pond.
Passing through a large sacred tree, I went to the torii gate of the pond.

There was its torii gate.
The mountain that could be seen faintly beyond the torii gate looked like Mt.Hachimen.
At the top of Mt. Hachimen, there is a shrine called “Yayama Shrine,” which is said to be the inner sanctuary of Komo-jinja Shrine.
